#4 Multicultural Education


Lesson in Science for Preschool
Integrated in Social Studies and Values Education

I.                   Objectives:
After the lesson, the pupils are expected to:
1.      recognize the two types of gender,
2.      appreciate the role of each type of gender; and,
3.      name objects that are used by boys/girls.

Story Telling: “Si Eba at si Adan”
           Children, do you want to hear a story?

          Ok, we will read a story about “Adan and Eve”, listen carefully so that we can understand very well how the story goes. Is that ok?

(the story will tackle about Eba and Adan; which is boy and Girl and how they help one another to survive)
        
(After the Story)
          Did you enjoy the story?

          So, who are the characters in the story? Will you name one, yes Airan?


         Very good, is Adan a boy or a girl?

         Correct. Will you name another character in the story, yes King Destinn?


         Right. Is Eba a boy? Or a Girl?

         That’s also right.
What can you say about Eve? Can  you describe her? Yes Kenneth.



          Right. How about Adan? Can you describe him? Yes John Lloyd.





          Very good John Lloyd, see Adan and Eve perform different task and wears different clothes.

Generalization:
           May I ask all the boys to please stand?



          May I ask all the girls to please wave their hands?

          Can you name some objects that are used by your classmate who were standing right now? Yes Ana Niccole.

         Very good. How about objects used by your classmates you waved their hands? Yes, Mikka.

          Correct.
          Jessie, will you name one task that boys perform?

          How about the girls? Kathryn?

          Alright. Who are more important, boys or girls?

          Why? Yes, Edcelle.

          Alright. If there are no more boys here, could you think we can have houses?

          If there are no girls, could you think there will have someone who can take care the house?

        Alright. So, Boys and Girls are both important., because they do have different task that they both need for survival.

Adan is one of the characters in the story.

Teacher, she has a long hair and she wears a skirt, she cooked meals for Adan.



Adan has a short hair. He wears bahag and do hard tasks like making fire, looking for food and he protects Eve.








(All the boys will stand, with this, we can identify children who already know their gender.)

Application: Boy and Girl Activity
General Direction: 
1.      Ask the children to find their partner with their opposite sex.
(boy and girl)
2.      Give each pair a puzzle card.
Direction:
1.      Together with your partner, complete the puzzle card that I will give to you, after completing the puzzle, get atleast three picture of objects on the box that are used by the type of gender you have in your  complete puzzle card.
2.      After completing the tasks, shout the Magic Word “I LOVE MY PARTNER” as a sign that you were already done. Is that clear children?

                         Children, be like a Wonder Pets when doing a task.
                         Ano ang kailangan?
                                    “MAGTULUNGAN!”
                        Alright. You may start now.

 
Evaluation:
                        Color all the objects that are used by boys and box all the objects that are used                               by girls.
 
Assignment:
Ask mom and dad to help you accomplish the task.
Draw atleast 5 objects that you used. Paste your picture in the box and then write your name below your picture.
