EDUC 165 Distance Learning

Distance Learning (EDUC 165) is a type of educating students thru the use of media and new technologies like computers, video recorder and others; we didn’t have to go to our University to attend class discussion or to meet with our instructor. The learners were taking their time to study their lesson using computer and they were required to make their own blog in which they could used for sending their assignments and tasks that given to them by their instructor thru the used computer and internet connection too.
 PROS
1.   be able to learn anytime and anywhere
2.  can study and work alone
3. not required to be present at discussion
CONS
1. not sensible if there is no internet connection
2. Tendency to duplicate or copy the output of others
3. cannot make use if there is no electricity

EVALUATION OF THE COURSE

EDUC 165 Distance Learning, gives me so much experience that I can used in the future. It allows me to browse and explore my knowledge on using new technologies like computers and make my own blog. And gives me additional experience on how to properly used technologies like internet because I only rent one on a computer cafe to connect to the internet and I should have to really manage my time in using the connection so that all the things and information that could help me finish my works.
This subject is very useful because it updated us to the new trends and issues in our society but “for us who are taking our practice teaching outside the campus it is not that good especially when the time allotted to complete the tasks is very little since not all students have their own computers or laptop or if they have it, the problem again is that they do not have internet connection at home. Longer time for completing the task should be given so that all students could achieve and finish it because like what I said, we are also taking our practice teaching and we all know that being a practice teacher commits a lot of responsibilities like making and writing our daily lesson plans, making instructional materials at night time and teaching our students in day time. And at our times, we have Saturday class.”- this is my first evaluation about this course BUT since our Instructor is very open-minded and understanding, she gives us an extension and move the deadline in passing all the tasks and it was really cherished; to see and feel that our Instructor have care and concern for us. Since the submission was moved, we didn’t have to rush ourselves to answer all the modules. It allows us to gain self-esteem and self-confidence, trained us to be a computer literate, and challenged our patience and reading comprehension especially our skills in following instructions.
But I still have one comment, it’s the recording of videos for the tasks storytelling and music video, I find it too hard to accomplish because I do not have yet my own digital camera that I need to use in recording my video.
But to sum it up, it was a big accomplishment on our part to finish the tasks despite of the problems that we encountered. I learned many new things especially to become computer literate since the main tool to do these tasks is to use a computer or new technologies.
I am also thankful and honored to have Ms. Vanie as our Instructor in this subject without her support, guidance and understanding, we could not make it. Thank you Ma’am.:)

#3 Storytelling/ Mother Tongue Based-Multilingual Education

1.      Effective storytellers can make works come alive. They can make the audience and listeners see, hear, taste, smell and feel what the characters in the story are feeling (Barry Mc Williams). In addition, effective storytellers according t o Barry Mc Williams must know how to properly put emphasis or stress to the word, phrase and even the entire dialogue that he was delivering/. Another is he must know what lines should be repeated in order to get the desired feelings and emotions, next is the proper transition of voice or part of story to another. They should know when to pause and make the listeners become actively involve to the story. Most important thing to be an effective storyteller is the voice, its tone, pitch and volume to sustain and regain the attention of the listeners. Unexpected twist in the narration and constant animation such as body movements, gestures, facial expression and body language are also the qualities of good and effective storytellers.

Good tone of voice. The voice of the “Uod”, it’s funny, especially when you were delivering this to preschool children.

I like your story “Si Munting Uod”, your eyes also convey thoughts and it is good that you know how to use your eyes in each lines that you were delivering.

#6 Global Classroom

1.                                            RH law

RA 10354 – also known as the RH (“reproductive health”) law has been a long time issue in the congress and even in the whole Philippines as a whole. Debates, intrigues and issues against the filling of this bill were randomly increasing and non-stopping. Even the Visayas group files a petition in the Supreme Court against this law.
Upon reading the article about the “Visayas group files petition vs. RH Law”, a big portion of my heart also wants to remove and throw that bill (Law) in to the trashcan because I think this will lead to a more and numerous young boys and girls to commit on a premarital sex or the male and female intercourse beyond marriage and it will surely happen in the future if this will continue to exists. This law violates the law of the Church and that is why Parishes and Priest were really eager to fight for an appeal about the passing of this law.
This law didn’t help the Filipinos to be responsible, they lead us to do crime and sin in the eyes of God.  That premarital sex is one of the sins that young people could do since this law states the legality on using condoms and other contraceptives that will control pregnancy. Yes, there will be less unwanted pregnancy but could they image what do the Filipinos could become when we are allowed to have sex at our young age? It will be disrespectful to us. Most of us, because of the poverty, we are only holding on to our Dignity. Could you think we can still receive and have that if we became a part of this RH Law?  No is the answer. Yes we can maybe hide from other people that we didn’t do such a sin but we cannot hide anything in the eyes of God. Being a responsible parents does not  mean to avoid the new forming life to grow up, it is to take care, love and give them birth that we can say that you are a responsible parents.
This law disrespect the sanctity of the family and to strengthen the family as an autonomy institution and the interference of the state with the parents primary right and duty in molding their children’s moral character. (Atty. Valencio S. Villa).
After reading this article, I realized that I am  very lucky to have a intelligence that are different to those who passed this bill into law, to those who will choose to feel the pleasure and happiness of life than to allow a new life to form and see the beauty of the world.
We can help our society to have its progress without using any contraceptives. A right family planning, to those who already have a family is the best solution. And to those you are still very young, learn to wait for the right time because most of the time, those who are eager  to experience things on the wrong time always have one thought in to their mind in the end; “SANA HINDI NALANG”. Right?? So let’s just enjoy the days that we are young, fresh and free, let’s enjoy life at its best because it only happens once. J
WAIT FOR THE RIGHT TIME. Just wait..

STATUE

      STATUE
By: Lil Eddie
(LYRICS)
(Oh yeah!, oh yeah!, yeah ooh, yeah!)
When a day is said and done
In the middle of the night and you’re fast asleep my love
Stay awake looking at your beauty,
Telling myself I’m the luckiest Girl alive.
Cause so many times I was certain
You was gonna walk out of my life, life
Why you take such a hold of me boy,
When I’m still trying to get my act right.

What is the reason?
When you really could have any girl you want
I don’t see what I have to offer,
I shouldn’t been a (season),
Guess you could see I have potential?
Do you know you’re my miracle?

I’m like a statue
Stuck staring right at you
Got me frozen in my trucks
So amazed how you take me back
Each and every time our love collapsed.
Statue, stuck staring right at you
So when I’m lost for words every time I disappoint you
It’s just ‘cause I can’t believe that you’re so beautiful,
Don’t wanna lose you, No!

Ask myself why are you even with me?
After all the shits I put you through
Why did you make it hard so leave me?
It’s like you’re living and I make you
But babe your love is so warm
It makes my shield melt down, down
And every time we’re both at war
You make me come around.

What is the reason?
When you really could have any girl you want
I don’t see what I have to offer,
I shouldn’t been a (season),
Guess you could see I have potential?
Do you know you’re my miracle?

I’m like a statue, stuck staring right at you.
Got me frozen in my truck,
So amazed how you take me back
Each and every time our love collapsed.
Statue, stuck staring right at you,
So when I’m lost for words every time I disappoint you
It’s just cause I can’t believe that you’re so beautiful,
Don’t wanna lose you, no!

Every single day of my life
I thank my lucky stars
God really had to spend extra time when HE sculptured your heart.
Cause there’s no explanation,
Can’t so the equation.
(It’s like you love me more than I love myself.)

I’m like a statue, stuck staring right at you.
Got me frozen in my truck,
So amazed how you take me back
Each and every time our love collapsed.
Statue, stuck staring right at you,
So when I’m lost for words every time I disappoint you
It’s just cause I can’t believe that you’re so
Boy you are the reason,
The reason for living, the reason for breathing
You’re so beautiful
And I want you to feel that
You’re so that I mean and
You’re the reason for breathin’
You’re so beautiful, oh wooh.
Oh wooh. Ohh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

When a day is said and done
in the middle of the night
and you’re fast asleep my love.
I’m the LUCKIEST GIRL ALIVE (:
